Owing to the freezing (and rock-hard) ground conditions, it was decided to leave the shovels & wheelbarrows in their beds and instead get out and survey some of the outstanding small bits and pieces that we can be do when it warms up a bit:
APPROACH TO CORKSCREW
The approach section needs rebuilding with a foundation trench as it showing extreem signs of wear. Also the "feature" needs to be rebuilt with the large rocks nearby as the startpoints. There is enough material in the vicinity to rebuild the section without having to look for stone elsewhere.
ALTERNATIVE TO CORSCREW BERM TURN
Just over the small bridge to the left of the corkscrew there is a requiment for a small right handed berm to carry enough speed for the table top jump parrallel to corkscrew. Possible methods include:
earth/stone bank with a wooden stake wall, (similar to berms on the red skills loop nearby)
FREE RIDE S BERM IMPORVEMENT
Just off the back of the table top jump on the free ride run, the right hand berm angle is too flat and could be increased to carry more speed which would allow:
more speed through the complex for the final jump
not have to brake sharply off the table top jump
All that is needed is to raise the profile of the right hander by a few degrees or so, just to give it a better flow. There is enough fines material nearby to do the job.
ELEVATED TIMBER TRAIL EXIT
Widen out the exit jump area to provide a constistent landing surface as the off trail ground is beginning to cut up badly.
(SHADOW) RETURN BERM BOTTOM OF FREERIDE
Bring the return shadow berm at the bottom of the free ride run into play by stoning it and adding fines. (maybe a little reprofiling too).
I took some photos and will post them when I return home from business
