6th Sept 2009 - Today saw the official opening of the new Trials Park, situated at the beginning of the Deadwater Trail.

Kielder Partnership Director, Elizabeth Rowark, did the honours of cutting the tape and declaring the new Trials Park officially open.
Photographer Joolze Dymond was there to get some cool shots of the riders, and photographer Tim Fisher was doing coverage for Bike Radar. Mick Stephenson of NEFR was on hand for all the trick riding.
With technical features like a rock garden, big ‘orange’ rated jumps and a two metre high elevated timber trail, the new trials park will be very testing for even the most experienced riders.
The new timber features were built by Neville Potts, sponsored by Jackson's Timber in Hexham. Ian Bell and David Robinson from the Bike Place, Kielder, also helped with the design and put in many hours in the construction phase.
Funding for the new mountain bike trails has come from the Northumberland Strategic Partnership via Single Programme funds from One NorthEast, European Regional Development Fund, Forestry Commission, Tynedale Council and the Kielder Partnership.
